Surprised by Joy??

Today is a nice day in Portland. As I drove through my neighborhood I noticed a guy out on his front porch working on his laptop. Just as I passed his house, I saw his mouth drop open and his face light up with happy amazement. He was leaned forward in his chair, staring at his computer.

My first thought was, "I'll never know what that was all about!"
My second thought was,"When was the last time I saw someone look like that in worship?"

Whoa! I sure like to see delight in worship. Wish I saw it regularly. I'm going to give this some thought...

OMG...that was so deep and so true. I could even take it one more step...when was the last time I allowed myself to be like that in worship. Why do I not show the Lord my joy?

I shared this on my blog some time ago, but I'll so so again: One Sunday, while our pastor was in the midst of the Great Thanksgiving, a couple of our little kids in the front row were copying his worship choreography movement by movement -- hands out, hands together, signing the bread and wine. And from where I was seated I could see their faces in profile, and they had that look of delight.
